Stump
removal
If you would like that unsightly stump out of your yard,
we have grinders to remove the stump below ground level.
We have two grinders. The first is our big grinder which
is pulled behind a truck. This grinder will make an
8 foot wide pass to remove big stumps. The second is
a small grinder that will pass through a 36 inch opening.
This machine weighs around as much as a lawn tractor.
This is good for smaller areas or for stumps close to
plants or other obstacles. Our stump estimates have
three parts.
1) Grinding the stump
2) Clean-up and removal of the debris
(stump grindings are NOT recommended
for landscape use)
3) Fill the hole with top soil
Once
the stump is ground there will be a pile of debris.
If you chose to have us clean up the debris, we remove
all the grindings from the hole. Some companies only
remove the top of the pile and put a couple inches of
top soil over the remaining grindings. The problem with
this is decomposition will occur in the remaining grindings
and a sink hole will continue to develop. The second
problem is grass will not grow well with the grindings
under the top soil. Some mushrooms are always a possibility,
around the area of the stump, with any stump removal.
If you decide to clean up the debris we recommend covering
the pile if it won’t be cleaned up before rain.
This will make it easier to shovel. It becomes very
hard to work with once the pile gets wet.
To finish the stump we offer the third part which is
to fill the hole with top soil. We use a premium top
soil and either compact it in the hole or leave enough
to accommodate for settling. Call or fill out our online
form for a free estimate. |
